In the top right corner of the page, there is an app picker drop-down menu. Click on it and select the ExAM application.
Now that you are on the ExAM home page you are going to Click on the Assessment Development Wizard tab.
Once you are on the Assessment Development Wizard tab you are going to click the “Create New Template” button.
Clicking the “Create New Template” button will take you to the template that is displayed below and this is where you will start to form your first survey/inspection/assessment. For the purpose of creating your first survey and understanding how it works, you should name this something along the lines of “Test Survey 1” that will be easily identified as what it is.
In order to officially create a new Assessment Template, there are not many fields that are required. You can just enter the desired template name, a description to identify it if desired. At this point, you can click Save and the new assessment template will be made.
Now that you have saved the template it will be displayed on the screen with any other existing templates with the ability to modify, preview, or clone it.
In order to add details into your Assessment Template, you will click on the “modify” button and it will take you to the Assessment Template page.
From this point, you will want to start to provide some structure to your survey. This Structure can be created through generating different Section Templates inside of the Assessment Template. To create a new Section Template you will scroll down the page till you see the “New Section Template” and click it.
You will then be directed to New Section Template editing page. Where you can fill in the desired fields.
For the purpose of this step-by-step instruction an example of something you might name a section is Demographic information, with an Order number or 10 (by not starting with 1 this gives you room to go in and adjust the order without having to change every order number throughout sections). You would also give a description if necessary. At this point, you can click Save, or Save & New if you want to create more sections.
Now a Section template will have been generated displaying the information of that section. It will look like the below image:
Now that you have successfully created a section template you will want to generate question inside of this section. To do this you will scroll down on the Section Template screen until you see the “New Question Template” button and you will click on it.
You will now be on a New Question Template Editing screen, which will have many fields where you can edit and customize your question to meet your needs.
After you have filled in the desired fields and customized to your needs you will click the Save button. Or you can click Save & New to create the next question in the section.
Now that you have an Assessment template that has a structured Section and question inside this section you can generate a URL to test to see if everything is working how it was intended. In order to do this, you must click on the Assessment Development Wizard tab.
Once you are on this tab you are going to click on the Assignment Generator tab.
On this tab, you will fill in the required information. For Assessment Template you will select the Survey name that you are generating a URL for. For Assessable Object, you will select any of the available options for the sake of testing we will select Account. Then you will select Assessable Records and choose a record to associate it to.
In order to associate it with a record that falls within Accounts, it is important that we have a record in our Accounts. To do this you would click on the accounts tab and click the “New” button and fill in the fields. For the purpose of testing, you can enter in anything that you want that makes it easily identifiable as a test account record.
Once that record is generated in accounts that are the record you will associate the public assessment to in the assignment generator page.
Then in Number of records, you will enter 1, and you will not need to enter in an expiration date. Then you will click Save and a message will generate informing you that you will receive an email when the record has been generated.
Now you will need to navigate to the Public Assessment Tab which can be found in the drop-down tabs on the top right of the page.
Once on the Public Assessment home page you will need to click the “Go!” button to view all the available public assessments (at this point you should only have one here so it should be easy to find).
You will be brought to a page where your public assessment is and you will click on the public assessment URL and this will open a tab with your test survey in it.
A new tab should open with your survey displayed. At this time you can enter in an input to the question and click the submit button. There should be a brief loading screen and then your answer should be submitted. If no errors pop up during this process you have successfully created a Public Assessment.
