At this point, we have just about everything that makes the Certification Object function properly all we have to do now is to make sure that when someone completes a certification assessment they are notified of the results. To do this you are going to want to utilize Email templates as well as workflow rules.
First, you will navigate to Email Templates in Setup.
Now make a New Folder to hold the certification templates you are about to create.
In this folder, you are going to click on New Template where you will create a template for Certification Pass and Save. You should also go ahead and create a template for Fail while you are there, you are gonna need that one too. These can be as simple or complicated as you want, that’s up to you.
With the Email templates successfully create we can move on to set some workflow rules to automate the templates distribution.
Navigate to Setup where you will type Workflow Rules in the quick find box and click it.
You will click on New Rule. Here you will then select the Certification Object and click Next. After providing the Rule Name and the Rule Criteria click Save.
Then you will add an action for when the workflow’s criteria is met. Since we are sending out a notification via Email we will add an Email Alert Action and fill out the appropriate fields. Here is what that would look like. When you have everything correct you will click Save.
Now you will want to repeat the steps shown above but make the workflow for a notification of a when Certification Status is equal to Fail and have it send out an Email alert containing the Certification Fail Email Template.
At this point, you should have everything properly configured and in place to implement the Certification Object in your Org and start certifying people!
