ExAM Permission Sets

ExAM Admin: The ExAM Admin Permission set is to be assigned to anyone who is going to require the most amount of ExAM access. The User will be able to execute all ExAM functionality, take an assessment in all viewers, and have modify all access to records in the Org.

ExAM Manager: The ExAM Manager Permission is more restrictive than the admin set and will rely on the profile/roles hierarchy that is determined by you. ExAM Managers will be able to take assessments in all viewers and have restricted access to fields.

ExAM User: The ExAM User Permission is the most restrictive level of permissions while still allowing for the completion of assessments in all viewers.

How do I assign a permission set to a User?

  1. From Setup, enter Users in the Quick Find box, then select Users.
  2. Select a user.
  3. In the Permission Set Assignments related list, click Edit Assignments.
  4. To assign a permission set, select it under Available Permission Sets and click Add. To remove a permission set assignment, select it under Enabled Permission Sets and click Remove.
  5. Click Save.

What happens if I don’t have the right permission set assigned?

If you do not have the proper permission sets assigned to complete an action you will receive an insufficient privileges error notifying you.

Can permission sets be reassigned?

Yes, permission sets can be reassigned at any time. If something changes with your user base you are able to make reassign the permissions accordingly.

What if the permission sets provided by ExAM are not sufficient?

The ExAM standard permission sets are intended to be a base to fulfill the average use case. It is possible that they do not fully cover your specific use case. If this is the case you are able to reach out to the ExAM team for assistance or alternatively you could take it upon yourself to clone and modify permissions as you see fit.
