The Multimedia question type allows you to upload an image or a video in a similar fashion to the image question type. The differentiator here is that you are not required to provide this question type with any answer options. By removing the required answer option you are now able to have another question type that allows for a more customizable User experience when taking assessments.
Now that you are aware of the new question type you can follow along with the steps below to see how to implement it.
Configuring your Org for the Multimedia Question type
The first thing you are going to want to do is to navigate to the Question Template object through the Object Manager under Setup.
Once you are on the Question Template object you will click on Fields & Relationships where you will scroll down until you see Question Type and Click on it.
Here you will scroll down until you see the Values section and click the New button. You will be prompted to enter in a new picklist option to which you will provide the value “Multimedia” and click Save. Doing this will make the Multimedia question type available to be selected in the question type picklist.
At this point, the Multimedia question type will be available for use in your Org.
Adding the Multimedia Question type to an Assessment Template
Navigate to the ExAM Command Console.
Click on the assessment template that you intend to add the Multimedia question type too.
Next, click +Add Question, you will then type your desired question text in the text box and select the Multimedia question type from the dropdown picklist.
Next, you will designate what the content you intend to upload to the question template by selecting the multimedia content type from the dropdown picklist. The two available options are Video URL and Question Image. To upload a video URL to the question template you will want to select Video URL.
You will then input the Video URL into the text box. You are also able to select the size the video will be displayed on the public assessment selecting either small, medium, or large from the Video Screen Size dropdown picklist. Once you have done all that you will click Add Question and the question template will be saved.
To upload an image to the question template you would select Question Image and then click Browse to select the image from your computer. You are also able to select the size the video will be displayed on the public assessment selecting either small, medium, or large from the Video Screen Size dropdown picklist. Once you have done all that you will click Add Question and the question template will be saved.
You have now seen the two option for the multimedia question type now we will take a look at how these will display on the public assessment.
